Domnica cotton gauze

Domnica - a name inspired by Sundays (in Latin - "dies Dominica") and traditional celebrations, recalling the timeless Romanian blouse (Romanian “ia”), a delicate, airy blouse, richly adorned with embroidery and stitched symbols carrying deep meanings, traditionally worn only on Sundays or special holidays.

Domnica preserves this connection to the traditional world, reimagining it in a delicate and refined fabric, suitable both for pieces inspired by Romanian folk dress and for contemporary creations.

Woven from SUPIMA cotton, the finest cotton fibers in the world, Domnica is light, airy and delicate to the touch, with the appearance of silk voile, yet remarkable strength and stability.

Fine and almost imperceptible when worn, Domnica also provides the support needed for various types of stitching and embroidery, including the hand embroidery traditionally used on Romanian ii. It is also an excellent base for machine sewing.

The fabric may be smoothed by steaming and ironing; wavy appearance may be fully removed depending on the intensity and temperature ironing. Wavy appearance is restored after each wash, as imprinted in the fabric’s memory through our Air Soft Technology.

MAINTENANCE:
Manual/automatic wash; separate colors; dyed fabrics should not be washed using bleach based detergents;
max. washing temperature: 20°C - 60°C white / natural, 30°C colored
